Protecting Texas Families through Alcohol Prohibition
Texas Temperance is committed to safeguarding the lives and well-being of Texans by advocating for legislation to prohibit the manufacture, distribution, and sale of alcohol and intoxicating liquors. Alcohol is not just a personal choice — it's a public safety crisis.
In 2023, over 1,200 Texans were killed in alcohol-related traffic crashes — the equivalent of more than 3 people per day.
Alcohol is a factor in approximately 55% of all domestic abuse cases in Texas, according to the Texas Council on Family Violence.
Excessive alcohol consumption contributes to 20,000+ hospitalizations annually in Texas for liver disease, alcohol poisoning, and related conditions.
Texas recorded over 4,500 alcohol-related deaths in 2023, many due to alcohol poisoning or alcohol mixed with other drugs.
We believe that removing alcohol from our communities will reduce crime, improve health outcomes, prevent family tragedies, and create safer roads. Texas has led the way before — and we can lead again.
Help us urge the Texas Legislature to pass a statewide alcohol prohibition bill and have it signed into law by the Governor. Volunteer, donate, or sign our petition today.
